RBI Assistant Exam Pattern 2016 –
Reserve bank of India (RBI) has made some revision in the Exam Pattern of RBI Assistant 2016 exam. The Bank from this year has decided to conduct the exam in three phase- Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination and Interview. RBI will soon be releasing the notification for recruitment of candidates to the post of Assistant. We have provided here the revised RBI Assistant Exam Pattern 2016 released by RBI. Getting familiar with the revised Exam Pattern of RBI Assistant 2016 will help the candidates to know the number of questions, total number of sections, time duration, maximum marks as per sections and total marks in Preliminary, Mains and Interview. As per the revised Exam Pattern of RBI Assistant 2016, the Mains Examination will be conducted within two to three weeks from the conduct of Prelims Examination. RBI Assistant Exam Pattern 2016
- The RBI Assistant Exam will be held online.
- The Exam will be held in three phases – Prelims, Mains and Interview
- The Preliminary Examination will comprise of three sections – Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability.
- The Preliminary Exam will carry 100 marks.
- The Mains Examination will comprise of 5 sections – Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.
- The Mains Examination will carry 200 marks.
- All the tests except the English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi
- Use of keyboard is restricted during the exam. The candidates will have to select correct options using the mouse.
- Both the Prelims and Mains Examination will comprise of Objective Type Questions.
- Candidates will have to qualify in each section both in Prelims and Mains Examination.
- Candidates qualifying the Prelims Exam will be called for the Mains Examination. Subsequently, those qualifying the Mains Examination will be called for Interview.

Prelims Examination
- Mark to be assigned for one correct answer : 01 mark
- Total number of question : 100
- Total marks : 100
- Total time duration for the exam : 01 hour
- For every incorrect question 0.25 will be deducted.
Mains Examination
- Mark to be assigned for one correct answer : 01 mark
- Total number of question : 200
- Total marks : 200
- Total time duration for the exam : 02 hour

RBI Assistant Exam Pattern 2016 – Points to note
- A candidate has to qualify in each part of the Objective test separately. In a nutshell, Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests.
- There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests.
- Roll No. of the candidates successful in online examination will be available on RBI’s website and a brief notice thereof will be published in leading newspapers.
Interview of RBI Assistant 2016
- Only such number of candidates will be called for interview who stand sufficiently high in merit on the aggregate marks of the Objective Test in the Mains Examination, such merit being decided by the Bank in relation to the number of vacancies to be filled in.
- The Interview will carry 35 marks.
- Final selection will be on the basis of candidate’s performance in the Online Examinations and interview taken together in order of merit.
